Florida Virtual School Online Courses
Oregon Virtual School District (ORVSD) is providing Oregon schools free access to 35 middle school and high school online courses from the Florida Virtual School (FLVS). The current ORVSD Agreement for district use extends through the 2014-15 school year. The courses are provided as supplemental content for District teacher led instruction. The courses are aligned to the Common Core State Standards, Oregon Content Standards, and the high school courses are NCAA approved. ORVSD is providing school districts use of these courses without volume restrictions. Teachers can use them for online instruction or as part of classroom instruction. ORVSD has configured a new individual Learning Management System for every district with access to the FLVS Course Repository. District staff should contact the ORVSD Help Desk to begin exploring the Florida courses and the District LMS Server.
Free Sketchup Pro licensing
The SketchUp Pro Statewide K-12 License Grant is an opportunity for public K-12 schools to have access to the 3D modeling Pro version at absolutely no cost. Licenses for Windows and Mac operating systems are available. Licenses can be requested through the ORVSD Help Desk at email@example.com .
ORVSD is the ODE Program that brought Google Applications for Education to 120 Oregon school districts and ESDs now serving 274,000 teachers and students. Funded by the Oregon Legislature, ORVSD provides public education with access to digital courses, hosted application servers, and teacher professional development for school district led instruction. ORVSD does not provide teachers. Resources are offered free to empower classroom-blended learning or as part of a district virtual school or program. ODE provides access to services through contracts that ensure student privacy and the protection of student educational records.
