Physical Education Expansion K-8 Grants for 2011-12 Awarded!
The Physical Education Expansion K-8 (PEEK-8) grant was established by the 2007 Oregon Legislature through the passage of HB 3141. It is designed to support activities related to meeting the physical education instructional requirements for students in kindergarten through grade 8. During the 2011 Legislative Session, legislators approved additional grant allocations for the 2011-12 school year. These grants fund professional development or the hiring of Physical Education teachers.

The Oregon Department of Education has awarded the following schools/districts with PEEK-8 Grants for the 2011-12 school year:

Teacher Hire Grants
  • Faulconer Chapman School – Sheridan School District
  • Family School- Eugene 4J School District
  • Black Butte Elementary- Black Butte School District
  • Sam Case Primary School – Lincoln County School District
  • North Powder Charter School – North Powder School District
  • Elkton Charter School – Elkton Charter School
  • Warrenton Grade School – Warrenton-Hammond School District

Professional Development Grants
  • Clatskanie School District
  • Silver Falls School District
