Science Achievement Standards Update - August 4, 2011

In July 2011, 24 educators, parents, and community partners from around the state met to examine the science achievement level descriptors and to propose cut scores aligned to the 2009 science content standards for each grade necessary to support students reaching proficiency in high school.

At the end of the three-day session, participants collaborated across grades to create a meaningful progression of proposed cut scores. These proposed cut scores will be available for public comment on the ODE website and through an online survey which will be posted at http://www.ode.state.or.us/search/page/?id=3319. The final recommended cut scores will be presented to the State Board in October for their review and adoption.

Listed below are the current and proposed science achievement standards:

Current Cut Scores for 2010-11 Proposed Cut Scores for 2011-12
