School & District Report Cards Results Released |
State Schools Superintendent Susan Castillo today released the report cards for Oregon public elementary, middle, and high schools during a State of Education speech delivered to education business partners at the Hillsboro Intel campus. Oregon’s 2009-2010 School Report Card Ratings

What’s new for next year? The Oregon Department of Education will convene stakeholders and advisors in the coming months to re-evaluate the Oregon Report Cards based on recent education reforms. These include the following: a new federal graduation cohort rate; an additional year to prepare students for statewide assessments in high school; and an unprecedented gain in student achievement in the Essential Skill of reading as part of the increase in student motivation related to the Oregon High School Diploma requirements. In addition, the Oregon State Board of Education is considering increased math achievement standards as part of the new math standards adoption process. All of these recent developments will be considered when the stakeholder group meets to review Oregon’s accountability system. |
