Funding for Migrant Education Program projects are provided as formula grants to qualifying school districts and ESDs in Oregon. Allocations are determined based on the number of migrant students enrolled. |

Currently there are 19 school districts and ESDs with MEP projects in the state of Oregon. Typically, these projects use the following cycle over a three year period: 1) A Comprehensive Needs Assessment, (CNA), 2) A Service Delivery Plan, 3) Implementation, 4) Data Collection/Reporting and 5) Program Evaluation. |

The Oregon Migrant Education Program (MEP) Plan is the service delivery plan in which the state outlines how it will meet the needs of migrant students. This plan is monitored by the Office of Migrant Education, a division of the U.S. Department of Education. |

The Office of Migrant Education (OME), a division of the U.S. Department of Education, monitors the state of Oregon every 4-5 years, examining its statewide plan designed to meet the needs of migrant students. The Migrant Specialist at ODE monitors the programs of participating districts and ESDs every three years. |
