Mathematics provides a foundation for the learning of science and technology as well as for the interpretation of quantitative information in other subjects. It teaches how to reason logically and develops skills that students can carry into other disciplines and many situations in real life. Mathematics helps students understand how the world works while exposing them to some of its unanswered mysteries. Ensuring all students develop a solid foundation in mathematics is our challenge.

	Standards Mathematics standards, standards-based resources, and documents along with information on the newly adopted core standards. On October 28, 2010 the State Board of Education adopted the Common Core State Standards (CCSS) for Mathematics.
	Assessment Achievement standards, sample tests, Mathematical Problem Solving resources, and other assessment-related materials.
	Content & Assessment Panel The Oregon Department of Education establishes a number of Content and Assessment panels to assist in the various activities that surround the academic content standards.
	Publications The Oregon Department of Education provides a variety of publications for parents, educators, and community members.
	Mathematics Newsletter The Oregon Mathematics Teacher Update is a monthly e-newsletter distributed by listserv.
