The primary purpose of the English Language Acquisition page is to assist English Language Learners (ELLs) to develop English Language skills, succeed academically, and overcome barriers that impede their academic success.

English Language Proficiency (ELP) Standards

The ELP Standards are designed to supplement the ELA standards to ensure that LEP students develop proficiency in both the English language and the concepts and skills contained in the ELA standards.

Assessing English Language Development

District English Language Development Plans

District English Language Development (ELD) plans are required by OAR 581-23-100 (3)(C)(b)(4) which charges districts with the development of programs for English language learners (ELLs) that meet basic U.S. Department of Education, Office for Civil Rights guidelines.
