How can SEC data be used?
The survey instruments and reporting tools provide an objective approach for schools and districts to analyze instruction in relation to
best practice
and Oregon's content standards. SEC can be used to increase student achievement by:
Analyzing the effects of instruction on student success
Supporting alignment of instruction to Oregon's academic content standards
Identifying professional development needs
Engaging teachers in open, objective dialogue with others about what and how they teach
Using Data for Education Applications
Educators and leaders at all levels will need guidance in interpreting SEC data charts and applying the data results to different functions of evaluation, alignment analysis, or improving instruction.
On-line professional development,
Using Data
, helps educational leaders learn to use data to improve programs, policies, and learning in the classroom.
