To help students, teachers, administrators, and parents learn what the expectations are for mathematics problem solving at grades 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, and High School, this page makes available sample papers that show varying levels of performance in each of the strands. The samples of student work, scores, and commentaries are grouped by strand.
These papers are meant to be one resource for examples of possible work sample tasks and are not intended to be representative of what all locally assessed essential skills tasks should be. The papers may be used for teacher training, informational documents, scoring practice with students, other audiences, or for other uses.
