Assessment Resource Updates Available

The Oregon Department of Education provides sample tests in science to demonstrate the content and types of questions students at Benchmark 2 (Grades 3-5), Benchmark 3 (Grades 6-8) and High School might encounter on the Oregon Statewide Assessment. Items on the sample test were taken from earlier years’ Statewide Assessments. These items are no longer secure and have been released for public use.

Sample tests for each grade, aligned to the new standards are available through the links listed below.
These documents are downloadable using either Internet Explorer or Firefox/Mozilla.

OAKS Online Sample Tests
These practice tests help orient students to online test questions and the online adaptive interface. The OAKS Online practice tests are only available using either the Secure Browser or Mozilla Firefox.

OAKS Onscreen Calculator
Students can access the OAKS calculator outside of the testing environment. Click here for the calculator used on the grade 5 science tests, and here for the calculator used on the grade 8 and high school science tests.
