ESEA Programs Currently Managed Through EGMS
EGMS
Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) is the major Federal funding mandate for public schools. The US Department of Education has developed a website designed for parents and other citizens. Programs that currently have grants managed through EGAMS are listed below. The last link is to the ESEA Grants Page that lists all ESEA Title Programs, including those not currently managed through EGMS.
Improving Basic Programs - Title I-A
Migrant Education - Title I-C
The general purpose of the Migrant Education Program (MEP) is to ensure that migrant children fully benefit from the same free public education provided to other children.
Neglected and Delinquent or At-Risk Children - Title I-D
Teacher Quality - Title II-A
The purpose of No Child Left Behind (NCLB) Title II A funding is to provide grants to increase student academic achievement by increasing the number of highly qualified teachers, paraprofessionals, and administrators in schools and classrooms.
Mathematics and Science Partnerships - Title II-B
English Learners - Title III
The resources on this page are designed to assist English Language Learners (ELLs) develop English language skills, succeed academically, and overcome barriers that impede their academic success.
Safe and Drug-Free Schools and Communities - Title IV-A
The Safe and Drug-Free Schools and Communities Act was created to encourage strategies that prevent violence in and around schools, strengthen programs that prevent the illegal use of alcohol, tobacco, or drugs, and increase parent involvement.
21st Century Community Learning Centers - Title IV-B
The 21st Century Community Learning Centers (CCLC) program is designed to provide opportunities for academic enrichment, including tutorial services to help students -- particularly those who attend low-performing schools -- to meet state and local student academic achievement standards in core academic subjects, such as reading and mathematics.
Funding Flexibility - Title VI-A
Title VI-A provides formula grants to states and districts and is designed to increase the academic achievement of, and improve the quality of education for, all students.
Rural Education Initiative - Title VI-B
Homeless Education - Title X
The McKinney-Vento Act’s Education of Homeless Children and Youth Program, ensures that homeless children and youth are provided a free, appropriate public education, despite lack of a fixed place of residence or a supervising parent or guardian.
