Supplemental 2012-13 Report Card Data Collection Templates Posted
Customized Excel workbook templates have been made available at
http://www.ode.state.or.us/search/page/?id=3946
. These templates include blank grey cells for you to input data for both Spanish and English versions of the Principal or Superintendent Letter and Curriculum and Learning Environment data. The completed template, including both Spanish and English messages, must be submitted to ODE no later than
August 30, 2013

Report Card Redesign
Oregon Department of Education (ODE) is in the process of redesigning the school and district report cards, with a scheduled release on October 10, 2013. Guiding this work is the Report Card Redesign Steering Committee representing a diverse group of Oregon stakeholders. This committee first met in October 2012, and presented its final recommendations to the ODE in April 2013. This committee has engaged parents, community members, business partners, students and educators in the resdesing in order to build a better and more meaningful report card.
Report Card Redesign Timeline
October 2012 - Steering Committee Convenes
October 2012 - First round of focus groups and development of list of desired data elements
January 2013 - First online survey, including redesign prototypes
March 2013 - Second online survey and second round of focus groups
April 2013 - Final recommendations to ODE
August 2013 - Letter and Curriculum Sections due to ODE
October 2013 - Public release of redesigned school and district report cards
