Revised Due Date
for District Collaboration Implementation and Design Grants, Round One
Wednesday, 31 July 2013
District Collaboration Grants Released Soon
Overview
The School District Collaboration Grant Program (Senate Bill 252) was established by the 2011 State Legislature to provide funding for school districts to improve student achievement through the voluntary collaboration of teachers and administrators to implement new approaches to:
a. Career pathways for teachers and administrators;
b. Evaluation processes for teachers and administrators;
c. Compensation models for teachers and administrators; and
d. Enhanced professional development opportunities for teachers and administrators.
For the 2013-14 school year, school districts will be selected to participate in the implementation grant based on their readiness to implement the four required elements listed above, through a competitive application process. District applications must have approval of local administrators, bargaining representatives, and the school board chair.
Districts applying for design grants must demonstrate wide stakeholder support and demonstrate capacity to take on this important work.
As part of the 2013-15 biennium a second round of grants will be available April 2014.
