Educator Effectiveness Regional Workshops

Educator Effectiveness The Oregon Department of Education (ODE), in partnership with the Oregon Education Association (OEA), Chalkboard Project, Confederation of School Administrators (COSA) and regional ESDs, is offering Educator Effectiveness Regional Workshops this spring to support districts across the state implement their new evaluation systems.

The workshops are designed to provide guidance and technical assistance to district teams working to implement their local evaluation and support systems aligned to SB290 and the ESEA Waiver in preparation for the July 1, 2013 deadline to submit their design and implementation plans. District teams are encouraged to bring documents for feedback and guidance from OEA staff, SB252 (pilot) coaches, and ODE staff.

Each workshop will have SB252 Pilot Sites and early adopters available to provide technical assistance to districts and answer questions about next steps. District teams will have time to collaborate throughout the day and network with other districts in their area.

Every Oregon district is eligible to be reimbursed up to $1,000 to cover the cost of sending a team to attend both workshops. These funds can be used to cover travel expenses (per diem) and/or substitute teacher costs. Additional information will be forthcoming on how districts may access these funds through the hosting ESD in their region. Districts must send teams to both sessions in order to receive reimbursement.
