Department of Defense (DoD) Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program

As part of an initiative by USDA to offer schools a wider variety of fresh produce the Department of Defense (DoD) Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program was created. The DoD Fresh Product Program allows sponsors the option to allocate a portion of their FDP entitlement towards fresh produce. Sponsors place DoD produce orders in FFAVORS Web (Fresh Fruits and Vegetables Order Receipt System) DoD contracts with a Prime Vendor to deliver the produce in Oregon. The vendor creates a catalog of items available with pricing. Only domestic produce (US grown) may be purchased from the items listed in the catalog. The produce price includes a surcharge of 4.6% that is paid to DoD. The cost of the produce (including the surcharge) is charged against the sponsor DoD account balance.

Sponsors wanting to participate in the DoD Fresh fruit and Vegetables program may submit requests to ODE FDP program. In your request provide the following:

  • Sponsor Name
  • Contact name, phone, and e-mail
  • Amount of Entitlement
  • Delivery location address

Duck Delivery has been awarded a Federal contract to deliver DoD Fresh Fruit and Vegetables. Sponsors who are not in areas served by the Duck delivery routes do not need to apply for DoD funding.
