Instructional Materials Home
This page is designed to support district adoption/selection of instructional materials that are aligned, accessible for all students, and of high quality, based upon review by Oregon evaluators. The Common Core State Standards (CCSS) for English Language Arts (ELA) and Mathematics were adopted by the State Board of Education in October 2010, altering the timeline for the adoption of instructional materials. The CCSS include higher-level, internationally benchmarked standards aligned with college and work expectations and represent consistent learning expectations across states.
Oregon will conduct a full review of ELA materials in 2013-14 and Mathematics in 2014-15 in support of district implementation of the Common Core State Standards. However,
in 2012-13 an Interim Adoption (Bridge Year) review will take place
, the goal of which is to “bridge” Oregon’s existing investment in instructional materials to support the implementation of the Oregon Common Core State Standards.
If the publishing company your district purchased materials from is not participating in the Bridge Year, please contact them to make sure they are supporting your district by producing new correlations that support continued use of previously state adopted materials.
Bridge Year
The"Bridge Year" instructional materials review process conducted in 2012-13 will allow existing contracted publishers and content providers to provide updated correlations, pacing guides and frameworks for existing materials that support the new CCSS. Only currently contracted publishers will have the opportunity to submit additional materials developed to support Oregon CCSS implementation, including professional development and materials in digital and accessible formats. The following list was generated to support districts that have already begun to work with the CCSS and are seeking to use Bridge Year Materials provided by publishers.
