Oregon is one of over 45 states that has adopted the Common Core State Standards (CCSS). These standards are part of an important movement to align teaching and learning across our state, our country, and even internationally. The CCSS address standards for K-12 and do not currently include standards for early childhood. It is important, however, that early educators are familiar with the standards and understand how to facilitate early experiences that will prepare children for success in school.
