Enclosed are three (3) policy memos issued by USDA for National School Lunch Program and School Breakfast Program sponsors. Please review these memos carefully for aspects that pertain to your meal program(s).

: Child Nutrition Reauthorization 2010: Privacy Protection and the use of Social Security numbers in Child Nutrition Programs
Provides guidance on the implementation of increasing privacy protections by requiring that only the last four digits of the Social Security Number (SSN) must be provided on the household application for free and reduced price meals
- Schools Program Policy Memo 18-2011 : Procurement Geographic Preference Q & As
Provides Q & As on the application of the geographic preference option in procurement of unprocessed locally grown or locally raised agricultural products
- Schools Program Policy Memo 15-2011 : Child Nutrition Reauthorization 2010: Outreach to Households on the Availability of Summer Food Service Program Meals
Provides guidance on the implementation of the provision that requires schools to conduct outreach on the Summer Food Service Program before the end of the school year
