RE: Eligibility of Expanded Learning Time Programs for Afterschool Snack Service Q&As

The Oregon Department of Education Child Nutrition Programs (ODE CNP) recently received Q&As from USDA concerning eligibility of expanded learning time programs for afterschool snack service in the National School Lunch Program (NSLP) and Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP). ODE CNP sent a memo to sponsors on this topic on December 14, 2010.

Attached are questions and answers from USDA to clarify eligibility requirements for afterschool programs for the afterschool snack component of the NSLP and the afterschool snack and supper component of the CACFP.

If you have questions about qualifying additional sites or about the CACFP supper reimbursement, please contact your assigned Child Nutrition Specialist.

Sincerely,
