Yes. Oregon laws require any out-of-state school to license in Oregon if it:
  • Has an office in Oregon
  • Recruits for new students in Oregon
  • Advertises in Oregon media.

6. What do I do if I want to file a complaint about a school?
A student should make every attempt to find a fair and reasonable solution to a problem through the formal complaint procedure within the institution. Unless the complaint is a violation of a state or federal law or administrative rule, the decision of the school is final. You may appeal to the Oregon Department of Education using the Complaint Procedure Form MS-Word

7. How do I get my transcript?
When a private career school closes in the State of Oregon, it is required by law to send student transcripts to the Department of Education, where they are archived for 25 years. You may obtain a certified copy of your transcript from a closed private career school by completing the Transcript Release Request Form RTFand sending it to us. There is a $10 search fee for this service. If the school you attended is open and does not send your transcript upon your request, please contact the school and ask why. If you owe money to the school, the school does not have to provide a transcript to you or to another school until the bill is paid.

8. How do I get financial aid?
Specific questions regarding the application and receipt of student financial aid should be directed to the financial aid office at the private career school you are attending. Questions about Oregon scholarships and grants may be directed to the Oregon Student Assistance Commission. General questions about federal financial aid may be directed to the U.S. Department of Education Region X.

9. How do I know if my school is accredited by an accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education?
Lists of regional and national accrediting agencies recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education can be found by going to the following website: U.S. Dept. of Education: Office of Postsecondary Education.
