Enclosed are four (4) policy memos issued by USDA for National School Lunch Program
and School Breakfast Program sponsors. Please review the memos carefully for
aspects that pertain to your meal program(s).
- Schools Program Policy Memo 08-2010
: Updates the definition of what is considered
unprocessed and amends guidelines regarding what is to be considered unprocessed
locally grown or locally raised agricultural products for the purposes of applying
geographic preference for procurements in the Child Nutrition Programs. Schools
Program Policy Memo 30-2008 was sent to sponsors on April 3, 2009.
- Schools Program Policy Memo 07-2010 : Questions and Answers related to Milk
Substitution for Children with medical or special dietary needs (non-disability), which
supersedes Schools Program Policy Memo 35-2009
- Schools Program Policy Memo 02-2010 : Procurement Questions and Answers, which
supersedes Schools Program Policy Memo 28-2009
- Schools Program Policy Memo 08-2009 : Procurement Questions and Answers
