Service Learning - Grant Applications & Awards
On April 15th, 2011, as part of the federal budget resolution process, K-12 Learn & Serve funding was eliminated from the Corporation for National and Community Service. There are no funds to support new grant awards or competition at this time.

Oregon Learn & Serve is a federally funded grant program that awards grants to schools and school districts to engage youth in service-learning. Awards are issued every three years by the Oregon Department of Education.

- The Oregon Department of Education has awarded K-12 Learn and Serve grants to eleven applicants for 2009-2012.

The following applicants were successful:
Canby SD, Cascade SD, Corvallis SD, Lane ESD, McMinnville SD, Oregon City Service Learning Academy Charter School, Oregon Forest Resources Institute & Tillamook SD, REALMS Charter School, Redmond SD, St Helens SD, Tillamook SD.

In school-based service-learning, students apply educational curricula, demonstrate proficiency in standards-based learning and extend classroom learning through hands-on services they help design.
