Personalized learning through application of knowledge to different settings and connection to real world relevancy is a key component to student success. Developing an understanding of and building skills needed for the 21st century are part of the middle level framework, and a personalized education plan helps students with guidance to reach their potential. Middle level plans should not only encompass academic goals and progress, but social awareness and growth as well.

The following resouces provide examples of Personal Education Plans used by various school districts. At the middle level, a PEP not only encompasses academic records, but includes the building of social skills and personal well being.
