Monitoring
The Office of Migrant Education (OME), a division of the U.S. Department of Education, monitors the state of Oregon every 4-5 years, examining its statewide plan designed to meet the needs of migrant students. The Migrant Specialist at ODE monitors the programs of participating districts and ESDs every two to three years.

Onsite Monitoring Schedule, Regular Year - Monitoring a Title I-C District Project


District Migrant Education Projects are monitored during, and on the same schedule as, the ODE consolidated monitoring activities. Monitoring includes a document review prior to the onsite visit and the onsite visit. Since the Migrant Title I-C Program needs to be monitored every 2 - 3 years, some visits will not be consolidated.



Onsite Monitoring Schedule, Regular Year - Monitoring a Title I-C Consortium Project


Consortium Migrant Education Projects are monitored on a three year cycle beginning with the 2006-2007 school year. Monitoring consists of a document review prior to an onsite monitoring visit. The purpose of the monitoring is to ensure compliance with NCLB Title I-C and the implementation of the consortium Continuous Improvement Plan.



Onsite Monitoring Schedule, Summer School


Summer School Projects are monitored as a requirement from the Office of Migrant Education. Monitoring includes a document review two weeks prior to the onsite visit and the onsite visit. Migrant Title I-C Program summer programs need to be monitored every 2 - 3 years.
