Data Confidence

This page details activities designed to improve data confidence in the Oregon Department of Education's (ODE) Central Operational Data Store. Data confidence is defined as the process of bringing system-wide data quality up to a sufficiently high level to support high-stakes decisions.

As part of these efforts, ODE has formed the Data Confidence Workgroup. The Data Confidence Workgroup is a group of state-, regional- and district-level representatives charged with maximizing data quality in the Central Operational Data Store. The Workgroup is concerned with the quality of data transfer, from local source systems to data warehouses, and from data warehouses to the Central Operational Data Store (REDS).

Membership in the Data Confidence Workgoup is comprised of individuals who are identified by each Regional Data Warehouse Provider and other interested stakeholders. The six regional warehouses are: Beaverton School District, Eugene 4J Consortium, Hillsboro School District, Linn Benton Lincoln Education Service District, Portland Public Schools, Salem-Keizer Schools, and Willamette Education Service District (includes the Northwest Regional Education Service District).

      Each biennium, the Oregon Department of Education funds the Regional Data Warehouse Provider Grant Program to meet the goals and requirements of the Statewide Longitudinal Data System (SLDS) initiative.
