Welcome to the Sheet Metal and HVAC Focus Area! Heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) mechanics install or repair heating, central air conditioning, or refrigeration systems, including oil burners, hot-air furnaces, and heating stoves. Sheet metal workers fabricate, assemble, install, and repair sheet metal products and equipment, such as ducts, control boxes, drainpipes, and furnace casings. Sheet metal workers and HVAC mechanics often work closely on heating and air conditioning projects.
