Essential Skills/Local Performance Assessment
Essential Skills
Local Performance Assessment
Overview
The Essential Skills are nine skills all students should have at the end of high school. They are skills that students should develop by being enrolled in Oregon schools from kindergarten through graduation.
These are the skills that are necessary for success in colleges and careers, three of which are required in order to earn an Oregon diploma.
Local performance assessments are tools that Oregon teachers use to support students in learning.
When students complete local performance assessments they are learning during the assessment. Then after the assessment teachers score the student work and provide students with feedback on their academic progress.
