Parents - Meeting My Student's Needs
Students are diverse in their needs and interests. To assure that all students have the opportunity to reach their potential, every effort must be made to meet these unique needs and foster individual interests. Career learning areas, special education, Talented and Gifted education, alternative education and many more opportunities offered in Oregon schools can make a difference in finding the key to each student’s success.
Alternative Education

Comprehensive Guidance and Counseling
Each school district in Oregon is expected to have a comprehensive guidance and counseling program (CGC) in place to support students' transitions throughout school, achievement of the diploma requirements, and preparation for post-high school next steps.

McKinney-Vento Act - Homeless Education Program

Special Ed Data, Fiscal, Legal, and Information
The Individuals with Disabilities Act of 2004 (IDEA 2004) mandates the provision of a free and appropriate public education (FAPE) for students eligible for special education services. An Individualized Education Program (IEP) is developed listing the specialized designed instruction and related services that will be provided to the student. Parent and student participation in decision-making is a key component of the IEP process.
Early Childhood and Kindergarten
This page includes information on Head Start, Even Start, School Readiness, Early Intervention/Early Childhood Special Education, Kindergarten and the Teen Parent/Child Development Program with a link to Oregon's Early Childhood Foundations, learning guidelines that describe what children should know, understand and be able to do during the first five years of life.
Braille Interface of OAKS Online
Accessing OAKS Online through the new Braille interface, students who use Braille now have access to the adaptive OAKS Online test and have the same number of testing opportunities as general education students.
