Federal law requires the annual determination of whether schools, districts, and states have made adequate yearly progress (AYP) toward the goal of having all students meet rigorous state academic standards by the 2013-2014 school year. By analyzing the data provided in these reports, schools, parents and community members can work together to improve education for all students.
Charter Schools, Title V-B
A charter school in Oregon is a public school operated by a group of parents, teachers and/or community members as a school of choice within a school district. Resources found on this site include a directory of current charter schools in Oregon, the Oregon Public School Charter Handbook and information on the charter school application process.
Continuous Improvement Planning (CIP)
A Continuous Improvement Plan (CIP) communicates to educators, students and their families, business people, and community members, the process of achieving and measuring improvements in a school district’s performance.
Oregon School for the Deaf (OSD)
OSD is a residential program for students who are deaf or hard of hearing. OSD offers a full range of curriculum and provides individually designed instruction for students leading to a variety of post -high school options, including college, competitive employment and supported work.
This site includes a directory that contains all private schools registered in Oregon as well as a registration packet for schools wishing to register or renew their registration with the Oregon Department of Education.
Private Career Schools
The Private Career School office licenses private career schools and provides educational leadership, technical assistance, training, and support to over 235 private career schools in Oregon.
The Oregon Department of Education produces yearly report cards for schools and districts. These reports--called for by the 1999 state legislature--provide educators with an opportunity to communicate directly with parents and community members about how local schools are performing.

Search Test Results
The most recently reported Oregon Statewide Assessment results for reading/literature and mathematics (grades 3, 5, 8 and 10) and writing, science and mathematics problem solving (grade 10) are available here. Search test results by district or school, and view overall performance as well as reports grouped by gender, ethnicity, English Language Learners, special education, and economic disadvantage.
