Registration Form Submission Due: May 21, 2008
The Oregon Department of Education Child Nutrition Programs (ODE CNP) Annual Mandatory Training for Adult Day Care Center sponsors of the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) will be on June 10, 2008. Enclosed is the registration form
with details on the location and time.
Training will focus on: 1) program administration changes and 2) nutrition education. This training will not review basic program operations and requirements.
Participants must be pre-registered to attend. Register by mail or fax using the enclosed Registration Form
. The completed registration form must reach our office by May 21, 2008.
The Annual Mandatory Training is required for sponsor staff members who manage and coordinate the CACFP. The CACFP manager/coordinator must attend the entire event for the sponsor to receive credit for participation. The person responsible for completing the Renewal and Annual Update may also benefit from attending the training.
Failure to attend the CACFP Annual Mandatory Training session will result in your organization being categorized as “seriously deficient” per Federal Regulation 7 CFR 226.6 (c).
During the “Current Topics in Nutrition” presentation, participants will be encouraged to share “best practices” regarding nutrition education utilized at their site(s). Participants will have an opportunity to share with others during the “Sharing the Wealth” segment. Please bring a sample of any tools or resources you would like to share. Examples are: a nutrition activity, a menu with nutrition learning opportunities, a recipe, or a purchased nutrition education program you recommend.
No food or beverages will be provided; however, you may bring food and beverages to class.
