The Arts - Assessment
Assessment is an integral part of arts instruction, both to guide it (assessment for learning) and to evaluate what students know and can do (assessment of learning). To be involved in the process of creating artworks is to be involved in continuous self assessment. Arts teachers are highly skilled in the evaluation of proficiency and performance-based assessment. In Oregon, districts are responsible for designing and implementing performance requirements in the arts.
