World Languages (Second Language) - Professional Development
As the result of reform efforts that began with the Oregon Act for the 21st Century expectations for students, and consequently teachers, have been raised. To meet these new expectations educators are being asked to master new skills and responsibilities and deepen their content knowledge. Continuing Professional Development (CPD) is one way to meet these needs.
The American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL)
The American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL) Annual Convention and World Languages Expo features over 600 educational sessions on such topics as: Assessment, Culture, Curriculum, Learner Variables, Literature, Materials, Methods/Techniques, Policy/Issues, Professional Development, Research, Specific Purposes, Standards and Technology.
