Content and Assessment Panel

The Oregon Department of Education is currently recruiting members for the Second Language Content and Assessment Panel. Interested second language teachers with three or more years of teaching experience are encouraged to apply. Representatives from all grade levels are needed on the panel. The panels’ major responsibilities may include the following:

  • Review and provide suggestions for revision (with input from other Oregonians) to the academic content standards, based on the benchmarking of Oregon Standards with national standards.
  • Review and develop materials designed to assist teachers in implementing the common curriculum goals, academic content standards, performance standards, and/or performance requirements.
  • Evaluate instructional materials matched to the academic content standards.

    This document describes the procedural overview process established for the development of Academic Content Standards.
