Assessment School districts in Oregon are responsible for determining and implementing performance requirements for second language instruction. Due to an increased emphasis on second language instruction, access to quality diagnostic, achievement, proficiency, performance, and progress-based assessments has become more urgent. In an effort to support districts this page includes links to information about many aspects of second language assessment and to sample assessments and assessment-related documents.



Sample Scoring Guides


These Sample Scoring Guides were created by the Second Language Content panel and are designed to be used at all grade levels. Scoring Guides are a useful tool for grading tasks such as projects, speaking or writing samples, group work, and presentations that require global measures of performance. Basing assessment tools on, or aligning them to, the Sample Second Language Scoring Guides will help to maintain statewide consistency in Second Language assessment.
