BROWSERS
Although we make efforts on this site to accommodate as many web browsers as possible, the Oregon Department of Education (ODE) web site is best viewed with the latest versions of either Microsoft Internet Explorer or Firefox. ODE recommends keeping your browser software current. See the following links for more details.

RSS
Both of the browsers ODE supports have integrated RSS readers. For more information, see the following link.

ODE RSS Web Feeds
ODE frequently updates syndicated content, allowing subscribers to monitor area content more easily via web feeds.

ACROBAT READER
The PDF files on this site will work best for you if you keep your Acrobat Reader software current. If you are experiencing problems with files on this site, please see the link that follows and, if necessary, download an updated version of that software.

VIDEO
Some of our web pages may include video files or links to video files. Most video connections are dependent upon the user's connection speed and the amount of users viewing the video simultaneously, so you may experience delays in online viewing. You can download the free viewers by using the links that follow.
- Windows Media Player
  This browser plug-in enables you to view animations, videos, and other interactive material available. Specifically targeting ODE files with "mp4" extensions.
- Quick Time
  This browser plug-in enables you to view ODE video files with "mov" extensions.

Adobe Flash Player
This browser plug-in enables you to view animations, videos, and other interactive material available.
Real Player
Oregon's Dept of Administrative Services hosts several of ODE's media files, which require Real Player.

OTHER FILE TYPES
In addition to traditional web pages, the ODE web site also contains links to files created in a variety of software packages such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint. In order to view these files, you will need to have the appropriate Microsoft software application OR the appropriate viewer installed on your computer. See the link that follows for details:

Microsoft Download Center
You can download the viewers for free by using the link above. Microsoft Viewers included are: Excel Viewer, PowerPoint Viewer, Snapshot Viewer (to view snapshot files created from Access reports), Word Viewer, Visio, and more.
