Effective Behavioral and Instructional Support Systems
Effective Behavioral and Instructional Support Systems
Improving student outcomes is the primary goal of the EBISS Project. School districts and early childhood programs have received assistance to implement and sustain a continuum of effective and sustainable school-wide academic and behavioral support systems. Through the application of a blended model of Response To Intervention (RTI) and Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS), districts and programs are able to meet the academic and behavioral needs of all students in their schools and programs.
To support districts in meeting this lofty goal, the Oregon Department of Education and their contractual partners provide on-going professional development and technical assistance to EBISS District Leadership Teams on a variety of topics related to literacy and behavior in the form of individualized technical assistance and training opportunities.
EBISS has been funded by two consecutive 5-year federal
State Personnel Development Grants (SPDG)
from the Office of Special Education Programs (OSEP). State Personnel Development Grants assist states in reforming and improving their systems for personnel preparation and professional development to improve results for infants, toddlers, children and youth with disabilities.
