Oregon Teachers Engage in Developing Statewide Assessments

Trained Oregon teachers develop all test items on Oregon's statewide assessments. These educators teach in schools across the state. The test items they develop explicitly match Oregon's Content Standards. Each test item is then reviewed by a Content and Assessment Panel, the Sensitivity Panel, Expert Reviewers, and then field tested before actually becoming an operational test item. Each mathematics, science, and social science test item is also translated to global Spanish and reviewed by additional Experts. Opportunities in 2009-2011 will be available to experienced facilitators and experienced item writers in mathematics, reading, science, and writing.
