Assessment Results

three administrators looking at color graph on paper Please note the following:
  • The percent of students meeting the standard in mathematics in 2010-11 and subsequent years is not comparable to previous years' results. In a move to prepare students for the increased rigors of the new Common Core State Standards and the Oregon Diploma, the Oregon State Board of Education voted on October 28, 2010 to increase math achievement standards (cut scores) for grades 3-8, effective for the 2010-11 school year. The previous high school cut score for "Meets" of 236 remains the same.

  • The percent of students meeting the standard in reading/literature and science in 2011-12 is not comparable to previous years' results. In a move to prepare students for the increased rigors of the new Common Core State Standards and the Oregon Diploma, the Oregon State Board of Education adopted new reading cut scores and new science cut scores for grades 3-8, effective for the 2011-12 school year. The current high school cut score for "Meets" remains the same for both reading/literature and science.

  • Due to budgetary restrictions, during its 2011 Session, the Oregon State Legislature determined that the Writing Performance Assessment will only be available for students enrolled in Grade 11 who have not already met or exceeded the state achievement standard on the Writing assessment. As described in ODE Numbered Memorandum # 001-2011-12, this restriction went into effect starting in 2011-12.
