Level 3 – In-Depth Practice for High School Teachers

Level 3 contains SIX workshops, 3 for English Language Arts teachers and 3 for Content area teachers. Both are designed to be presented by a local facilitator to high school teachers. Length of each workshop is about 3 to 4 hours.

Focus of Workshops
  • Review of requirements for Essential Skill of Writing
  • In-depth practice using Official Oregon Writing Scoring Guide
  • Practice applying Scoring Guide to sample student papers with emphasis on accuracy
  • Awareness of Common Core State Standards for Writing and how they align with Oregon’s scoring guide
