Training to New ASD Specialists
The Oregon Department of Education provides a grant to Northwest Regional ESD to support the Statewide Consultative and Resource Services for Autism Spectrum Disorder. Statewide Consultative and Resource Services for Autism Spectrum Disorder are available to assist the Regional Programs in meeting the Autism Spectrum Disorder needs of students with disabilities who are eligible under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Improvement Act (IDEA 2004) IDEA.

Oregon Regional Autism Model Training Sites (ORPATS)
The Oregon Department of Education in collaboration with STAR Autism Support, Inc., and Northwest Regional ESD is continuing development of a statewide network of Oregon Regional Autism Training Sites (ORPATS). The system of training sites provides a proactive approach to individualizing services for children with ASD. By building state and local capacity through a systematic training protocol, large numbers of staff can be more thoroughly trained in an efficient, research-based replicable model.
