The American Indian Alaskan Native Closing the Achievement Gap Grant is designed to support school districts working in partnership with one or more of the nine federally recognized tribes in Oregon to create opportunities to increase academic outcomes for American Indian Alaskan Native learners as well as to support strong links between home, school, and community. Further, the training, mentoring, and study of best practices will ensure educators are able to provide culturally relevant, effective instruction and to motivate, engage and support American Indian Alaskan Native students.
