Recognizing that educators at all levels of leadership are faced with many complex decisions around assessment planning, the Oregon Department of Education is providing guidance as well as developing additional professional learning materials to aid districts and schools in their assessment efforts. The goal is to ensure that all assessments used are of high quality and truly support student learning and growth.
As part of this work, the ODE has developed an assessment guidance document, including an assessment vocabulary table, considerations around purchasing or developing assessments, and criteria by which districts may evaluate assessments.
