REMINDER - Smarter Balanced Online Panel for Achievement Level Setting

In addition to the In-Person Achievement Level Setting Workshops, Smarter Balanced is seeking input from educators, parents, and business/community leaders via an online panel to establish a common set of performance standards on the Smarter Balanced assessments across grades 3-8 and high school. Panelists will select a content area and grade, take the associated English Language Arts/Literacy or Mathematics test, and recommend an Achievement Level score they believe to be necessary for a student to be considered proficient at grade-level standards and to be on track for eventual college and career readiness.

Participants must register online at this link. Access to the Online Panel registration site is also available through the Smarter Balanced home page at www.smarterbalanced.org.

Panelists will select a two-day window between October 6 and 17, 2014. The Online Panel activity will take up to three hours and can be completed in one or multiple sittings at any time during the two-day window. Panelists will need to use a personal or office computer or tablet. Potential panelists need to complete registration by September 19, 2014.

Please contact Rachel Aazzerah at rachel.aazzerah@state.or.us eMail for help with the registration process. Thank you in advance for your time and effort in making our new assessment system as fair and reliable as possible.
