TELL Survey Deadline Extended Until April 7
School-based teachers and administrators are currently being asked to complete the TELL survey and share information on the teaching and learning conditions in their schools. This survey will provide important information to schools, districts, and the state about what our teachers and administrators need in order to deliver on our state’s ambitious education goals.

There has been a great deal of interest in this survey with more than 15,600 educators (48%) from schools around the state already sharing their voices. In response to this wide-spread interest, we have decided to extend the deadline to allow even more teachers and administrators to participate. The TELL survey will now be open through 10pm Monday, April 7, 2014.

If you and your staff have not yet shared your voice, we encourage you to take the time to complete the survey and tell us about the teaching and learning conditions in your school. Your feedback will help inform local school improvement efforts, district planning, and state-wide policy discussions.

Other states that have administered the TELL have generally extended the survey for 7-10 days. However, Oregon’s survey was originally scheduled to end on Monday, March 24, the first day of most districts’ spring break. Since most educators take this survey at school, we will be extending the survey window a full week past spring break to make sure our teachers and administrators have the time and opportunity to weigh in.

As a reminder, school-level results are only available to schools where at least 50% of licensed staff participate. Make sure to get your school’s numbers over this threshold so that you can receive those school-level results. Want to see what your current participation rate is? Visit http://www.telloregon.org/progress/index to access current participation rates by school and district.

Don’t have your access codes? Need to make a correction to the headcount listed for your school? Have other technical questions? Contact the TELL Help Desk at 1-800-310-2964 or visit www.telloregon.org and click on 'Need Help?'

Please pass this email on to staff in your school who have not yet had an opportunity to take the survey. The results will be richest and most valuable if we hear from a large number of Oregon educators in districts and schools across our state.

Thank you again for sharing your voice and participating in this important survey. We look forward to hearing from you.
