Spring Writing Assessment Test Windows

The spring test window for the online writing assessment opens on Wednesday, April 2, 2014. The spring test window for the paper-based writing assessment opens on Friday, April 11, 2014. Districts that ordered spring paper-based writing tests will receive their shipment of secure materials between April 2 and April 4. Students taking either the online or paper-based administration of the spring writing assessment will have through May 22, 2014 to complete their writing assessments. Paper assessments must be shipped by districts for scanning no later than June 3, 2014. Eligible students in grades 11 and 12 have one opportunity to take the writing assessment; they may take either the online or paper administration in either of the two windows; students who tested in the winter window may not test again during the spring window. Eligible students are those who have not previously met or exceeded the standard on the state writing assessment. Please note that grade 12 students will not receive results back from the spring window until early July, which would not be in time for making graduation decisions.

For those who ordered paper-based tests, secure test booklets will arrive in districts by April 3. Additional blank copies of the folders can also be obtained to address enrollment fluctuations by contacting your Regional ESD Partner.
