|Oregon Minority Educator Retention Grant|
|We are pleased to announce the next grant connected to Oregon’s Strategic Initiatives. As part of the new Network of Quality Teaching and Learning, there are several grants aimed at closing the academic achievement gap and promoting equity in our schools as we work toward our 40-40-20 goal. Paramount to the Network is the expansion of strong, sustainable systems of minority educator recruitment and retention. The Oregon Minority Educator Retention Grant is designed to support school districts who are working to design and implement retention models for educators who are culturally and/or linguistically diverse. The grant program seeks to provide funds to school districts and post-secondary institutions who can create collaborative processes, culturally responsive interview models, collaboration with local business, development of strong mentoring programs, and creation of culturally responsive learning communities. Applicants should consider the targeted outcomes of the Oregon Teacher Corps and the Oregon Minority Teacher Act.
