Essential Skills Validation Opened November 18

This year’s Essential Skills Validation period started Monday, November 18 and will end Friday, December 13 at 11:59 PM with periodic refreshes on the Achievement Data Insight (ADI) application available on the ODE secure district site. Staff will need to be granted permissions by their District Security Administrator in order to view the validation.

The Essential Skills validation includes students with regular or modified diplomas in the 0910 four-year cohort and the 0809 five-year cohort. The detail tab includes the method by which each student met their essential skills (reading and writing for the 0910 cohort and reading only for the 0809 cohort) as well as their highest applicable OAKS score. The Summary tab includes aggregate counts by cohort and essential skill. Districts can edit the essential skill codes for their 2012-2013 school year graduates using the ADM Exit Adjustment window, which closes on November 29th.

These data are the basis for the Essential Skills Data Report. Last year’s report can be found at the Essential Skills Data Resources web page. The report includes disaggregated district data regarding the assessment options used by students to meet their Essential Skills. It also contains a detailed state level report that includes the aggregate OAKS performance of students meeting the essential skills by methods other than OAKS.
