The deadline for districts to submit appeals for writing assessments that were completed during the spring 2013 writing window is Monday, September 30, 2013. All submissions need to be received by ODE by close of business on that date.
Information about submitting appeals can be found in Appendix G of the Test Administration Manual which can be found at http://www.ode.state.or.us/search/page/?=486. The directions and forms on pages G-24 and G-25 should be used to complete the appeals process. Since the form has remained the same as last year, you may use the one currently posted for the 2013-2014 assessment year for papers that were completed last spring. Be sure that a qualified rater has completed the local review and that both that individual and the District Test Coordinator has signed off on the required form.
Re-scoring of these appeals will be completed by an experienced team of state scoring directors in mid-October. Scores will be available in Student Staging before the end of October; notification that they have been posted will be sent to all districts who made appeals submissions. Please remember that the appeals scores will replace the original scores and it is possible that, in some cases, scores may go down.
