|Extended Assessment Field Test Review (Online)|
The Oregon Department of Education extends an invitation to special and general education teachers to participate in an upcoming online review of some recently developed assessment items at all grade levels/bands and subject areas of the Extended Assessment (i.e., Mathematics, Reading, Writing (High School only), and Science.
Purpose: The purpose of this online review is to ensure that extended assessment items are (a) consistent with current research and practice in the assessment and instruction of students with the most significant cognitive disabilities; (b) appropriately reflect Oregon's content standards for these subject areas; and (c) are free of bias for all students.
Process: The assessment items under review have been created by test developers, educators, specialists, and researchers in the field of special education and will undergo this additional level of review to ensure that current Oregon teachers have the opportunity to shape the assessment of Oregon's students. The process of review may include edits, revisions, or other recommendations to the proposed items.
If you indicate availability and are selected to participate in this review you will receive a brief training on the online review process that will also be conducted online October 10, 2013, 3:30-4:30 PM. On average it will take an individual reviewer about two hours to complete the training and the review. For your participation in this brief online review you will receive Professional Development credit for the time spent in review.
This Item Review is scheduled to be completed by October 30, 2013. Note that all WebEx times are based on Pacific Time (PT).
