| Smarter Balanced Pilot Test (Scientific Sample) Launched February 20 with Special Forms Available March 14 |
The Smarter Balanced Assessment Consortium Pilot Test launched yesterday at 1:00 pm Pacific time. Testing will begin with grades 7, 8, and 9 in mathematics, and grades 7 and 8 in English Language Arts, in 337 scientifically selected schools across twenty states. Thirty-seven of these schools are in Oregon, including schools in Clackamas, Coos, Crook, Douglas, Grant, Harney, Jackson, Jefferson, Lane, Linn, Marion, Morrow, Multnomah, Sherman, Wallowa, Wasco, Washington, Wheeler, and Yamhill Counties. While the majority of the Pilot Test (scientific sample) launches today, special forms will be available for schools by March 14; participating schools will be notified directly. These forms are to be used in 7th grade only:
